Build With Connective: A Deep Look Into Our Community

Connective recently released Build With Us!, a human-centered research report surrounding residents in Harris County affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The report is the culmination of over a year’s worth of research, conversation, and deep dives into research topics using monthlong “design research sprints.”

With help from a generous research grant from United Way of Greater Houston and the Greater Houston Community Foundation, Connective gained a better understanding of residents in Harris County. The insights and knowledge gained during the research allowed them to lead the way in innovative program design, advocate for groups that live in the margins, and adjust resources in real-time to respond to changing needs.

Connective has also launched an accompanying website where users can explore research based on their topic of interest, search for research insights, view methodology, and download a full PDF copy of the report. Explore at buildwithconnective.org.

The Public Assistance State of Texas Assessment Tool (pSTAT)

To qualify for federal assistance after a disaster, states must meet a pre-established threshold. The Public Assistance State of Texas Assessment Tool (pSTAT) should be used by local governments to capture damages to public infrastructure, debris and other FEMA designated categories in order to meet that threshold.

pSTAT is a damage assessment tool for use at any event. To utilize the tool, or for more information, visit: https://pstat.tdem.texas.gov/
